Does the homeowner pay you for your service?
No. We do not charge the homeowner for any of our services (referrals, consultation or follow-up).

My job is small (or really big). Can you help me?
Yes.  We have contractors in our network that can handle jobs from the smallest handyman repair, to the largest addition, kitchen or bath remodel and everything in between.

How do you find your contractors?
Our contractors come from a variety of places, including clients, other contractors, local reviews and others.  Once we have sourced a contractor, they must pass our rigorous screening before they are invited to join our network.

How do you screen your contractors?
There are several ways we screen our contractors.  We check their licenses, verify insurances and certifications, check for strong references, and good BBB / Consumer Affairs histories.

How do you ensure that the contractors in your network maintain the high standards required of them?
We follow up on each and every referral. Additionally, we monitor their licenses, insurance and certification expiration dates.  We also send each of our homeowners a survey following the completion of their project to ensure our clients are happy with the services they received.

What if I have a problem with a contractor you recommend?
The odds of that are reduced greatly because you came to us in the first place.  However, if a challenge arises and you are unable to work it out with the contractor, please contact us.  In most cases, we can resolve the issue quickly.  The contractor has every incentive to make things right because they want to continue to receive future referrals.

How do you get paid?
Our contractors pay us a pre-determined finders fee for work secured through our network.

Doesn’t the contractor pass on the cost of your commission to the homeowner?
No.  Our commission is pre-negotiated and is considered an expense that the contractor would have otherwise spent on advertising and sales promotions.

Can contractors advertise with you?
No.  A contractor cannot buy their way into our network. They must be invited based on their outstanding credentials, being licensed and insured, having good BBB and consumer affairs records, and good references.

Do you charge membership fees?
No.  Neither homeowners nor contractors pay membership fees. We only profit when we match a homeowner with a contractor who meets their needs and completes the project to the homeowner’s satisfaction.  We believe this is the only referral model that creates a win-win-win situation for all parties (homeowner, contractor, and referral service.)

Does Tried & True Referrals guarantee the contractors’ work?
As the contractors we refer operate independently and not as employees of Tried & True Referrals, TNTR cannot guarantee their work.  However, we will work as a liaison between you and your contractor should a problem arise.

Is my personal information sold or shared with anyone else?
No.  Your contact information is only shared with the contractors whom you request for your project. Tried & True Referrals highly values and respects your privacy.
